Blog FAQs

Content marketing has become a core marketing activity for many businesses.

You can demonstrate your expertise and build your reputation by writing fresh, thought-provoking content for the Donut blog feed.

Why post a blog on the Donut sites?

We can give you unrivalled access to the UK's small and medium-sized businesses. The Donut sites are the most popular small business sites in the UK. They had over 2.75 million unique page views in 2022.

In addition to access to the UK's SMEs, you will benefit from being associated with a trusted and independent source of small business advice.

There are five Donut sites (each with their own unique blog feed) that are aimed squarely at the UK's small business owners and managers: Start Up Donut, Marketing Donut, Tech Donut, Money Donut and the Law Donut.

Got a question?

How much does it cost?

It costs £300+VAT (if applicable) to post a single blog.

Can you give me a price in dollars?

We are a UK-based company and as such we invoice in sterling. To find out how much our package costs in a different currency, you can use one of the free, online currency converters. Note: any conversion will only be indicative as exchange rates are constantly moving.

You can choose to pay us in another currency via Paypal, but the amount we receive must equal the total amount invoiced after fees and charges.

How long will my blog be live?

Blogs stay live for a minimum of 12 months. After 12 months, blog content is reviewed. Content that has 'expired' (content that is now out of date), thin content or content that has not proven popular with our readers will be deleted as it is damaging to our bloggers and the wider site to have such content on there.

If your blog has proven popular, you may be offered the chance to renew your post for an additional fee.

Will my blog be marked as 'sponsored' content?

Will my links be 'Do Follow'?

Links are added in line with latest Google guidelines. They make it clear that there are only three link attributes (sponsored, UGC and NoFollow).

Natural links that appear within the body of a blog will be added without an attribute.

Links in the blog credit line, however, would be labelled as rel=sponsored. If you want to submit a post without a sponsored link, you can opt to have a blog credit line without a link and simply name an individual or the company name without a link.

Do you offer discounts if I post more than one post?

Yes. Please contact the blog team directly for details of our agency prices and multi-blog discounts. You can contact us at

Can we attribute our content to the blog team?

No. Your content must be attributed to the person or company that submits it to distinguish it from content that has been written in house.

There are three basic forms for the credit line and you can choose which you would like to use. They are:

  • Copyright 2023. Sponsored post [name/company/URL]
  • Copyright 2023. Article was made possible by site supporter[name/company/URL]
  • Copyright 2023. Featured post made possible by [name/company/URL]

Can I add a link to existing content?

We do add links to our content from time to time. However, most blogs are submitted by third parties so we do not own the copyright. This means we do not add links to existing blog posts.

Please contact the blog team if you would like to add a link to other Donut content. Contact the team at

If you have any other questions that have not been answered above, please contact the blog team who will be happy to help.
